Andrew Jackson 7th President
Andrew Jackson was the first president born a log cabin. He was born in The Waxhaws, South Carolina. Jackson's Irish father died before his birth and his mother died when he was 15. This left Jackson to the struggles of life on his own. In Tennessee he was a planter and a judge , then he became a military leader. During his time as a military leader he was a leader in the Battle of New Orleans in the War of 1812. During the Battle of New Orleans, Jackson and his men killed 3 British Generals which saved James Madison's reputation as president. He earned the nickname "Hero of New Orleans". After he was inaugurated on March 4, 1829 he became the second war hero president. Jackson was inaugurated under the Democratic party at age 61. A year before he was inaugurated his wife Rachel Donelson Robards died. He adopted 1 child and named it Andrew Jackson Jr. During his first term, he enacted the Indian Removal Act. He was inaugurated again for his second term on March 4, 1833. He died on June 8, 1845 in Nashville Tennessee.
