Calvin Coolidge 30th President
Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. He became president when Warren G. Harding mysteriously died while in office. Coolidge was nicknamed "Silent Cal" because of his lack of words. Coolidge preferred a hands off attitude with the economy. In this time the economy prospered. Coolidge finished Harding's term then had one of his own. Coolidge died on January 5, 1933 in Northampton, Massachusetts.
