James Madison 4th President
Born on March 16, 1751 in Port Conway, Virginia. In 1787, he was asked o lead in the framing (creating) of the Declaration of Independence. Madison served as Jefferson's Secretary of State for Jefferson's 8 years as president until Madison ran himself and won in 1809. During his time as president the War of 1812 began. The war was beginning to destroy Madison until the Battle of New Orleans. This is where Andrew Jackson and his army killed three of the British Generals. Madison was re-elected for a second term and finished his term in 1817. He later died on June 28, 1836, in Montpelier, Virginia.
