John Adams 2nd President
John Adams was lawyer who graduated from Harvard University until he became involved in the American independence movement. He was found being one of our nations Founding Founders. He helped draft the Declaration of Independence.
John Adams was born in Braintree (later renamed Quincy), Massachusetts on October 30, 1735. He married Abigail Adams and they stayed happily married for more than 50 years. Together the had 5 children, Abigail Amelia, John Quincy, Susana Charles and Thomas Boylston. He was elected in 1797, under the federalist party, and inaugurated on March 4, 1797. During his time as president he established a naval department and controlled foreign affairs which accumulated to most of his time in the presidency. John Adams died on the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1826) along with Thomas Jefferson on that day. |
