Andrew Jackson the precedent to Van Buren, said when he chose to no longer run to put faith in Van Buren. Jackson was so well liked that the people went with his word and elected Van Buren.
Martin Van Buren was born on December 5, 1782 in Kinderhook, New York. He was the first president to be born in the United States. During Van Buren's time as president, he continued to enact Jackson's Indian Removal Act. Also when Van Buren was elected an economic depression started to emerge. Van Buren unable to find a fix was not re-elected. Van Buren died on July 24, 1862 in Kinderhook, New York. |
