Rutherford B. Hayes 19th President
Rutherford B. Hayes was born on October 4, 1822 in Delaware, Ohio. Hayes' was not popular as a president by others in Congress. During his term, gold was found in South Dakota territory under sacred Indian land. George A. Custer led a federal cavalry to their deaths at the Battle of Little Big Horn. The Indians were soon moved by federal troops. Hayes decided no to run again. He served from 1877 - 1881. He died on January 17, 1893 in Fremont, Ohio.
