Theodore Roosevelt 16th President
Wiliam McKinley was born on October 27, 1858 in New York City, New York. McKinley was an Assistant Sevretary of the Navy before the Spanish- American War. He then reigned from his post and traveled to Cuba. He created a volunteer calvalry group called the rough riders. His group rode up to San Juan Hill where the Spanish surrendered. McKinley then became the vice- president under William McKinley. Once McKinley was assasinated, Roosevelt was sworn in on September 14, 1901. Roosevelt fnished McKinley's terma and was elected a Republican for his own term. During his frist president, he created the first wildlife refugee. Roosevelt was the first president to invite an African-American to the White House. Roosevelt died on January 6, 1919 in Oyster Bay, New York.
